My parents are both 67 and celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary last year. About three months ago, a divorced female friend of mine in her early 50s was doing some redecorating and needed a hand.</div>

As my dad had recently retired and loves doing DIE, I introduced them and suggested he help her out. I didn’t think anything more of it. Then last week I went round to see my friend and noticed Dad’s car outside, which I thought was odd as the redecorating was done.<br />

If this is a serious affair and he thinks he’s going to end up with this woman, or even if he’s having a moment of madness due to a midlife crisis, he’s been with your mum for 40 years and he really owes it to her to be honest about this. I’m sick of being blamed for making him miserable. </div>
